I have a filter kit on my C-90 engine. I use Aeroshell 15W50 and change the oil at 20 hours or less. Reasons: Oil is cheap. Engines are not. Also, I cut the filter open and run a magnet through the oil sump on every oil change. If something is going wrong in the engine, I want to know about it sooner rather than later. I removed the oil screen in the engine when I put the filter kit on so I wouldn't have to fight that battle on every oil change.
