Hey Jim: you should change your oil at least every six months whether you fly the airplane or not. Daily temperature changes will condense moisture inside the engine, and produce acids/ corrosive problems long term. This is why training airplanes that fly several hours every day routinely reach TBO, while those of us that do not fly so often do not do so.
    As others have said, oil is cheap compared to engine overhauls. But nothing seems to beat regular and often flying.
