Hey Ed: Due to the serial number of your Ercoupe being prior to 813, You will have to use a kit for Piper aircraft, STC is (Cleveland kit #199-07100) This will put 6.00-6 tires on your coupe, which will also change the height of the tail, and may require spacers. You should have no problem getting FAA approval on a 337, because the kit is approved on Piper aircraft.
I have completed one of these in the past, and it really made a difference on the braking ability of the airplane. (serial 171)
I do not know if John at Skyport has any kits in stock, Univair used to carry them, and the price list (2 years ago) had the Chrome kit listed at 1091.00 and the steel kit at 896.00
Of course, you still have to have tires and tubes, and new lines made, along with the labor for the installation. Most likely, it would be a good idea to install a new master cylinder when intstalling the kit.
