Hey  Alan: I use an oil squirt can to bleed brakes. By putting a  length of 
clear plastic hose over the end of the squirt can, I can see when the  
hydraulic oil is about to come out of the hose. Loosen the bleeder valve  on
the bottom of the brake (1/4 " wrench) and just before you attach the  
plastic hose to the valve, loosen it about a turn or two. Hydraulic fluid 
should  
run out of the valve. Then pump about 20 squirts of hydraulic fluid through the 
 
valve which will push the air in that side up to the point where it will  
continue upwards on its own. Do the same on the other side, and you will have  
bled the brakes.
