Given my question of a few weeks ago and the current thread regarding the same, I would like to let you know what I have done. In addition, I have a question... I am running a C85-12 in my Ercoupe. On the initial flights after restoration I was getting between 180 and 220 degree oil temperature readings after about 1 hour of flight with an OAT of about 85 degrees. Oil pressure was constant at 40 lbs. This weekend I flew twice for about 1.5 hours each flight. There was a two hour period between flights. During the second flight the oil temperature rose to 230 degrees with an oil pressure drop to 35 lbs. The OAT throughout the day was about 93 degrees. I have reworked the baffles to tight tolerances and also added the spin-on oil filter. I did not lose any oil for the day of flying. First I am looking for further advice, I did see Lynn's ring job suggestion and I trust his expertise. Compression on all cylinders is 68 or above. Second... what are other's experiences with oil temperature? Can you publicly or privately let me know your average oil temp, oil pressure with OAT factored in? Thanks, John ============================================================================== To leave this forum go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm
