John Wright the elder gave a good tip at the EOC meeting in Terrell last weekend.  He recommended the steel needle in the carb, and using lapping compound to get a good fit.  He took home the prize for having owned the same Ercoupe for the longest time - over 30 years!  Guess  he knows something...   :-)

Ron Hynes makes a good point about the float.  Attention should be given to the needle to be sure it’s the right kind and the tip has not swollen.
