Could you please do your "hurting" on a different forum.

 

Your last messages were not Ercoupe Tech related and I see a tendency that the next few won't either.

If you need to rant, find a different forum or talk to someone.

 

This is the Ercoupers Tech forum here and we are doing pretty well exchanging Ercoupe related information.

 

You need to relocate your rant onto the Ercoupers - flyin site.

 

If you need help in doing so, I have the feeling there will be someone of the group telling on how to subscribe and unsubscribe to the right groups.

My Points:

 * I know where the Delete Button lives.

 * I do not read "fuses" (a thread with a flame attached) like this one.

 * I  know the difference between self-censoring (aka civilized) and censorship.  And moderated (looked at) verses moderation (which is highly desired). 

 * I know the "moderator" of this list (like most post-message-now lists) doesn't check all posts 24/7.  The other model is all messages go into the hold bucket for review and forwarding if they pass muster.

My wife is on a cat list which is indeed moderated. If a contributor
flames another contributor, or wanders way off topic, e.g. politics,
the former gets warned. If the offending contributor persists
repeatedly, despite warnings, etc., he/she is removed from the list. I
have no problem, indeed would welcome same, with this sort of
moderation. I've been aboard this list for a bit over a year and I've
seen feelings hurt, rash and nasty comments and a boatload of politics
which has nothing to do with aviation. We don't need that "stuff". My
wife asks where is the list owner and why is it not being moderated. I
cannot respond as I have no idea - I had perceived John Cooper as the
moderator, but he doesn't moderate, only jumps in as a very welcome (to
my perception) sage. We seem to be "self-moderating" with the result
that some folks, having been flamed or flat insulted, have dropped out.
I have no use for the tirades, politics or flaming, and if it weren't
for the occasional nuggets of technical gold in this list (it is like
gold panning, a lot of gravel and occasional bits of the real thing),
I'd be gone, too.
