My mechanic is wondering if there is a clamp with a pin available for connecting the muffler and exhaust pipe. He said this is a typical arrangement to keep the two mating pieces from sliding in and out, which on my coupe is about 1/8 - 1/4".
The 1/4" dia. (roughly) pin is only long enough to go through a hole drilled through the joint where the muffler and exhaust pipe join together. I'm assuming the pin/clamp is one assembly which when tight, prevents relative movement between the two pieces. Currently there is just a simple worm gear type clamp in place.
Is this an Ercoupe part? (hello John C.)
