I’m thinking that a crosswind landing while holding the yoke firmly (or rudder pedals firmly if so equipped) could put too much pressure between the wheel’s attempt to swivel and the control’s firm hold resisting it.

 

By Coupe procedure, you need to hold the yoke lightly (or remove your feet from the pedals) at the point of touch-down.

 

This would be rare – I’ve never heard of an instance of it till now.
