The lower scissors link on the steel nose gear is the weak link. It
generally bends before anything else can be damaged. Second weak
link, and the weakest on the gear with the aluminum scissors, is the
upper steering collar. The ear that the steering rod attaches to
generally snaps off, again, before anything else can be damaged.
Check the collar or cracks and replace the lower link and you should be OK.
