My mechanic went in to replace the alleged leaky fuel shutoff valve on 99340, and oops - he found a big crack in the tank itself. Bummer. I went ahead and ordered a new tank from Univair (the only one they had in stock), because I am impatient and don't want to lose a lot of time on getting my tank rebuilt.

I am still going to get my old tank rebuilt, and was wonder how long it takes to get it done by one of the experts out there, such as John Wright, Jr.? Once it's rebuilt I'll list it for sale.

I'm hoping I can get the new tank in be back in the air in a couple of weeks. We'll see...

Also, my mechanic isn't sure exactly how to remove the tank. He's been told everything from removing the panel completely to removing almost nothing. He said he's just going to start on it and figure out the least amount he needs to remove to get the tank out...

One thing, I'll feel better about my avionics after this, since my last radio was ruined by leaking fuel!
