Oh, yes, it would be very difficult to place the stiffeners in there after it was riveted to the ribs.  Be sure to rivet the stiffeners in first.

Thanks Syd, I like that answer.  Since you've done it already, did you attach the stiffeners to the sheet before nailing it to the fuse? Lynn mentioned he had a bit of difficulty with his.

    Been there, done that.  It's just a flat piece of sheet metal, 0.025 thick.  You can use the old one as a pattern and just match drill the rivet holes in the new one from the old one.  Not a problem.

One question I'll ask from the experienced.  The bottom piece of sheetmetal under the center section was removed.  I have the old one and need to replace it.  It appears that it can be replaced with sheet stock, but it also appears to have a slight bend in it.  If it has a compound curve it may need to be ordered, but before I do that, I would like to try to make one myself.  So to the guys who have done a center section, please advise.
