Thing that gets me is the fact that the mag was replaced, as was the
wiring and the problem still exists. That kinda throws out all the
counter weight, e-gap, bad point, bad electrical thing for me, although I still
would suspect even new plugs. They'll get it. Right now frustration
is getting the better of them and they need to rest, regroup and return to the
basics rather than the exotics.

I have had similar symptoms in the past and most of the time it was caused by a broken spring, or something else broken, in the impulse couplings. Now that I think about it, I have had like 4 impulse coupling failures in both my Slick 4301 magnetos in the last year!
