AV Blend (Linkite) has been out for a while, as an FAA approved oil additive. I reviewed their claims and became convinced enough to spend my hard earned money on it, at every oil change.

I think the general concensus amongst us mechanics is to pre-heat below
about +/- 40 degrees or so if at all possible.

When I was living up in Alaska, in addition to pre-heating the engine,
some of the guys would drain the oil - usually when they finished flying -
and heat it in their homes (or hangars, or tents, or wherever). The
potential is there for forgetting to put the oil back in, but I didn't
hear of anyone doing so.

On another note regarding engines, CamGuard seems to be showing a lot of
promise as an oil additive.

There's a pretty good article titled "Oils and Oil Additives" by Jim
Cavanagh in the May 2006 issue of PIPERS magazine. www.piperowner.org

Hello to all,
What does everyone think about preheating the engines in our coupes???
Winter is almost here in the northeast and my poor coupe is outside tied
down.
