Not sure if this is folk lore, but the reqson to stay off the brakes is two
fold:

  1) So you stay in control and don't skid down the runway.....

  2) So you don't warm up the rotors....which will melt any snow kicked up on
them. Then when you stop and park, will freeze the brake pads to the
rotor......good luck moving after that......folk lore? Sounds logical......

The only thing I would add to the other posts on this subject is to use
caution if you have wheel pants on your Coupe. They can get packed with
snow and freeze up the wheels. If your next landing is on dry paved
runway the landing roll can be very short! I would recommend removing
them for winter operations on snow.
