I installed the gauge a few times, always used 3 gaskets.

Lynn,

I saw a post that you made in 2002 about the left wing tank fuel quantity
indicator parts. The nice new lens that I bought a while back cracked and
started leaking, so I have to order another one. ( I was hoping that I would
never have to buy another one when I paid over $50.00 for that $3.00 part last
time.) I noticed that your post said that three gaskets were required, but my
Alon parts manual calls for two gaskets. Three gaskets make a lot more sense
to me. One between the tank and gauge assembly, one between the gauge assembly
and the lens, and one between the lens and the lens retainer ring. Can you (or
someone else) tell me how many gaskets there are actually supposed to be? I
only used two last time, which means the metal lens retainer got put right on
top of the plastic lens, which is probably why it cracked. Do you typically
install three gaskets?

Thanks,
