Frank, I like the fact that I don't have an access door to check the oil. By opening up the whole side cowl, I can see all the other important things around the engine, like wiring, cables, fuel lines and hoses, and every time I check my oil I glance at all of those things, plus I look for puddles at the bottom of the engine compartment. As for draining the oil, you can fish a clear plastic tube up through the opening in the bottom cowl that the nose gear strut goes through and connect it to the drain on the bottom of the oil tank, and run the other end into a gallon container. Works great.
