Why install a 35 amp generator? 1. No change to the wiring, just bolt the generator and a matching voltage regulator. (Assuming your wiring is in good condition!)
2. If your plane is a D, E, Alon or Mooney, the type certificate includes the 35 amp generator, so it's just a logbook entry, no 337. If the plane is a C or CD it gets a little grey, but some A&Ps on this board agree that a logbook entry should also be sufficient. You need to consult your own A&P /IA and get his / her understanding of the paperwork he / she will require to install a 35 amp generator on a C or CD.
