Check the carburetor bolts for tightness and the carb gasket where it 
bolts onto the intake manifold.  Check the gooseneck intake fitting 
bolts at each cylinder and the gooseneck gaskets.  Extra air leaking in 
leans the mixture, and adding carb heat richens it back up again.
