As a side question to John, the very early coupes with the Hayes brakes used basically automotive brake fluid. Is the new cylinder compatible with that?
The new cylinder does not have sufficient volume to work with the Hayes brakes. Also, AFAIK, the only planes that use automotive brake fluid in the brakes are the very early ones with the Hayes master, mounted forward of the firewall. The o-rings in the Scott cylinder are not compatible with automotive brake fluid, so most of the planes around today with Hayes brakes should have 5606 hydraulic fluid. So, to (not) answer your question, the question is moot. John Cooper Skyport Services 518 797-3064 www.skyportservices.net _____
