JMHO, I feel the prop should be in the 10-11 o'clock position (facing) at TDC if vibration is not more severe. Makes it easier to hand prop in an emergency. The service manual recommends "45 degrees right of vertical when the compression stroke begins" Bill

Several of you said the prop should be at the 2 o'clock position and I checked to see where my prop stops. Problem is it doesn't stop at the same place each time. It varies from 12 o'clock to 10 o'clock. So guess I will have to use the position of the piston in #1 cylinder as the guide. There were two opinions on where the piston in #1 cylinder should be with prop at 2 o'clock. Guess I need some more opinions on that so I will know which one to accept (TDC vs half way).
