accept (TDC vs half way).

Dan:

A loose engine will nearly always stop 45 degrees past TDC on which ever
cylinder is on the power stroke. This is where the previous cylinder's
exhaust valve has started to open and the next cylinder's intake valve has
closed. The next cylinder starts to compress and the previous one looses
the "push" from the previous compression stroke.

When the engine is in this position the prop blades should be somewhere
around 10:00 and 4:00 as viewed from in front of the plane.
