Oh, yes.  I'd forgotten that little detail.

 

I'd go with the other guy's suggestion.  Don't mention the restricted
license issue.  Let the DPE guide the process.  If he issues you a license
that doesn't have a restriction, that's nice.  (You'll still have to do
heavy transition training when you change planes no matter what.)

 

If he makes noises about how he can't give you an exam in an Ercoupe because
of those required maneuver details, then (and only then) do you mention that
Coupes can be used for check rides but therefore get a restricted
two-control license.

 

Is there some way you can get a useful portable power chair you could take
along in a Coupe, rather than trade up?

 

I can see that you might need a high wing and some special winch mechanism
to get in and out by yourself in the long run.  That might just require
moving away from the Coupe.

 

Whether you move to another plane or not, you are always part of the Coupe
family.  Never forget it!
