In other words you would need a field approval to install the item.  Yes you 
can possibly get it, but I wouldn't cut before the fed okays it.  Contrary to 
what's been told you at the airport cafe, the electrical connection is not the 
issue here. Since the panel in most airplanes is part of the structure, you'll 
need a DER's blessing and drawings to hand to the fed who's really never been 
trained practically to make such as decision.  Remember that there isn't a full 
set of gonads in many of the FSDO's and it has nothing to do with anatomy.

FYI, the AirGizmo bracket is on the hit list.  Too many people took it upon 
themselves to really stretch the rules and install them and it made the 
pseudogods mad as hell.  I say unless you have a real tech at the FSDO or 
you're a brother-in-law (again, nothing to do with anatomy) you just ain't 
getting this one approved any longer.

The above advice is worth what you paid for it.
