I have come across an issue that I think has been dealt with before by the group.
In getting my coup ready to fly this year and conduct my annual, I noticed some rippling between the end rib and the outer walkway rib where the rear spar passes through. I have not pulled the wing yet (which I have to do since I have not yet done the inspection holes in the walkway box.) I noticed that when I removed the gap strips between the wing and the walkway, the edge of the rib end trailing edge is bend a bit as well. I read somewhere that this is part of an inherent weakness in the ribs where the rear spar passes through. I also read somewhere that there is a reinforcement for this area. The coupe is a Forney F1 serial 5713, so it is one of the later models, so it has most of the upgrades that were made along the way. I need some information to lead my mechanic through any repairs needed. What is the possible cause of this? What possible damage do I need to check for? What is involved in repairing this area. Thanks in advance for any help the group can provide. Steve Finkelman Edmonton AB Canada.
