i think the issue is if you make a call out,cel phones are line of site
cel
tower to cel tower as you drive along the road, now the higher you go in the
air
your signal will reach mutable tower at same time cause corruption in system
program not knowing how to deal with you at so many locations simultaneously.
otherwise there would be optional $9.95 mo in air plan,  thats the american
way
if theres a chance to make a buck lets do it. anyway that's my unauthorized
opinion.

HI Bart and ALL , my opinion would be .... if you are in a questionable weather
situation and you have  this capability USE IT. then if some one questions you
about it (if they do)  deny deny deny ! using it could save your Butt--- great
asset. BTW good question..

Just bought an Iphone and tried out several web sites to access weather
information. The best one I found was
http://adds. aviationweather. noaa.gov/
At the top of the web page you can select radar or satellite depictions
or winds aloft plus several other data sets. The radar page allows you
to select a specific weather radar to give coverage anywhere in the
country. The satellite feature gives a great regional overview for
flight planning. Question is, how legal is it to access the internet
on a wireless phone while airborne? I know we discussed using the
phone feature is not legal, but how about the internet feature?
