Linda, My coupe came with newly overhauled magnetos. The local A&P insisted on installing a new mag switch and new "P" leads.
When we finally got it airworthy I flew about three hours before a coil in one of the mags failed. (I noticed it on run up at a neighboring airport). My feeling is that "some days you just can't win". At least we had problems that were found and fixed on the ground.
