Percy, please elaborate on the play you are experiencing. Up and down play in the steering collar should be addressed with the shims from skyport (~$10). I doubt there is much other play in that collar. The lower sleeve can be replaced for around $120. It probably should. The strut , if worn can be rechromed for around $200-300. but I would make sure to eliminate the source for the scratches . Is it the right lower strut (piston) combined with the right sleeve? We are having two kinds of Nose gears in Ercoupes. The Steel gear and the Electrol kind. Hartmut
