Yes i drained all of the useable fuel. The wings are fabric as they were before.

Hey Bob: I have weighed several coupes (with bathroom type scales, not
certified) and the empty weight has generally been over 900 lbs. Were you the
owner when the airplane was weighed 12 years ago? Were the scales certified?
When you say you have changed the wings, etc, does that mean you have put
metalized wings on in place of fabric? Metalized wings generally add a little
more than 40 pounds to the empty weight. Paint and interior can add 20 to 40
pounds depending on what was used.
As you have found out, empty weight is a definite consideration. The
original coupes weighed around 800 pounds when they left the factory. But that
was without any radio or instruments, paint, interior, etc. When you think
about what each one adds, 15 pounds for metal prop, 40+ pounds for metalized
wings, 20 or more for paint, 12 to 15 pounds for gyros and the system to drive
them, 10 to 20 pounds for interior furnishings, and X amount for the dirt,
grease and oil build up over 60 years, it is easy to see how the empty weight
can grow by 100 pounds or more.

I just had my coupe weighed, and to my suprise it  tipped the scales at close
to 900 LBS...!  !2 years ago it was weighed and came in at 834 Lbs.....I
replaced a lot if items such as: wings, horiz stab, brakes, tires, battery,
airspeed indicator, rate of climb and ELT. I can see a slight difference, but
64 Lbs.....? What are some empty weights out there so I can compare..... .
