Rich,

Sure, those few who removed the header tank have done so.  Some others have,
perhaps with a change to a larger engine.

But the header tank IS your backup for the engine driven fuel pump in a
Coupe.  If the fuel pump fails, you have a high speed hour of cruising.
Even if you don't notice the problem for half that time, you still have
enough fuel for a fine landing just about anywhere in the country.

I would not complexify a Coupe's fuel system by adding an additional fuel
pump.  I DID and ALWAYS WILL look at that nose tank float wire every few
minutes - at least every ten minutes.

No way will I let myself run out of gas in a Coupe!  (I'd feel so dumb I
could never show my face in public again!)
