Anyone can do anything on their plane that an AP/AI is willing to sign off on.
There are actions that a private pilot aircraft owner can accomplish without a
sign off by an AP/AI. I thought that was what the subject was. The article
that I read specifically addressed what someone flying under the sport pilot
rule could and could not accomplish in the way of unsupervised maintenace. As
I said before, I am not sure what it did say. It had nothing to do with flying.
