I bought the 1320 # STC to take advantage of the extra legal useful 
load.  No doubt the structure can handle the eventual 1400 pound GW of 
later models, but for me the extra fuel or passenger weight was a plus 
since hardly anyone fits the FAA 170 # std wt. anymore.  For me the 
legality factor was important in case of an accident event or rare case 
of a ramp check.  I also want to assure the a/c is legal as part of my 
general piloting responsibility and to assure my CFI is not in jeopardy.
