My frustration continues. After the repairs to my alternator and
magnetos, I have noise on my radio. I had the guy look for loose
ground wires and antenna connections. He pulled the radios to check
their connections. The problem persists. This time I tested the
operation of my handheld radio and confirmed that the interference is
on the handheld radio as well. When the engine is off, both radios
work fine.

The noise is a rythmic "static" that seems to have the cadence of the
engine ticking over. It is not a whine that I have read is the sound
of interference from an alternator. I have been told I need to find
a "radio man" to fix my problem.

Are there any other approaches that might be more direct rather than
to continue to write checks to people who charge me for attempting to
fix my problem without results? How about replacing the ignition
wiring harness?

Thanks.
