My coupe had quit or almost quit a couple of times after I bought it.  I was 
told to taxi with the carburetor heat on, which stopped the problem while 
taxiing. I would also say that if you are having a problem during acceleration, 
you are probably advancing the throttle too quickly.  I used to advise my 
students who would "jam" the throttle that they should first get the Hormel 
tattoo removed from their throttle hand.  Now, I think that's funny but some 
people might say I'm a little too sarcastic.
