I'd recommend you buy a low cost digital tach checker or, even better, borrow one from a local mechanic for half an hour and check your tach. This is so you know you have true data. But, due to your climb and rpm, I'm guessing your prop is something flatter than a 7146. I had a 7146 and got almost exactly 100 mph at 2400 rpm with climb not as good as you report. Perhaps you have a very excessively flat super-climb prop - so flat it's not permitted on your plane according to the Aircraft Specification A-718, the guiding document. Personally, I liked the 7146 pitch. It gave me adequate climb to get to 12,500' almost any time I wanted, good short field takeoff and 100 mph was an adequate cruise for me to go coast to coast. If you have or can borrow a GPS, it's also very good to calibrate your airspeed indicator. Here's the procedure: http://edburkhead.com/Ercoupe/airspeed_indicator_errors.htm As John said, having correct and complete data goes a long way toward debugging problems.
