John Cooper brings up a very important point.

 

Sometimes mechanics re-hook the cables without crossing the rudder cable per
the books.  They MUST follow the books.

 

The Coupe will fly with the rudders backward but it's squirrelly!  When you
weight down the tail to test this, be sure the weights are right over the
bolts holding the empennage on the plane.  When you turn the yoke, make sure
the rudders are turning in the appropriate direction.

 

In crosswind takeoffs (really all my Coupe takeoffs), I did as Bill
suggested and took off with the trim set at cruise.
