Thanks for  everyone's input.  The cowl is back on, last test run up on the
engine with new cylinders was successfully done today and I should be flying
this week after 7 months of inactivity.

One more note on what happens in a coupe's life.  At some point, the valve
covers were powder coated.  Somehow, the coating was on the inside surface of
the valve cover, where the gaskets are supposed to seal.  It was obscure enough
that it was not noticed until we did the first run up after installing the new
cylinders and all four covers had oil leaking out.  So after cleaning the
surfaces to remove the offending coating and using four new gaskets, there was
no more leaking.  With an airplane this old and various owners, you just have
to check everything for unusual so-called "repairs".
