Richard, As to the leak, I'll be 20:1 that it's the needle in the carb that's leaking. Sometimes they just don't seat properly and will slow-leak. If it were the valve inside the cabin, I bet you'd have a strong fuel smell in the cabin each time you arrive at the plane and opened the window.
It may be worth it to get the needle checked to be sure you don't have the neoprene needle (which I'm not even sure if it's legal any more). Here's a good reference from Hartmut's http://ercoupe.info website: http://www.ercoupe.info/uploads/Main/stromberg_needles.pdf For now, shut off the fuel valve inside the cabin, the one between the header than and the carb. It's normally located under the instrument panel, just in front of the right side of the pilot's chest. BE SURE you add checking the fuel valve position to your before-start checklist (which it should be on, anyway) and BE SURE you follow your checklist. You don't want any mistakes on the position of the fuel valve during takeoff! Ed
