Hi Dennis, If the new wire was liberally greased in the process of installation, it is difficult to imagine how and why it would bind as you describe. It is possible the wire housing between the "B" nut and the trim tab is not entirely clear of all previously installed trim wire, or that the interior has been narrowed by severe dissimilar metal corrosion. Previously installed trim wire could have been music wire and not stainless.
I would first try to run a short section of bigger, stiffer wire through this latter section to try to clear it.
