That is the air supply for cabin heat. The air comes from the baffles,
gets heated around the stack, then goes to the flapper box on the
firewall. If the hole in the baffle is just open, it can affect engine
cooling.

I had a top overhaul done on my C-85. This is a before photo, note
the scat hose going to the muffler.
After competing the job I noticed that this hose was not installed.
What is that scat hose going to the muffler for?
