As I understand the same alteration on you plane needs to be filed by your 
mechanic with a 337 too. He can use the data from the previous 337 to 
technically support his case and proof the airworthiness. But he can not demand 
that it will be approved like the previous one. But most likely it will.

If an Ercoupe of the same model as mine has an approved 337 (major repair and 
alteration). 
What is the procedure regarding the FAA for me seeking a 337 for the same kind 
of work
that I want to do on my plane?
