Excellent question!
Item 22 for Serial No. 3490 on 9-18-46 was 415-40498. It was for a
wood propeller and had no forward bulkhead. It is no longer in
production. There are six configurations of current production Univair
spinners that "may be used...".
The first four look substantially the same as the original shown on p.
22 of the Parts Catalog, Fig. 17, item 51 now comprised of a dome and
bulkheads in different combination purchased separately:
Dome FBulkhead
RBulkhead
Metal Prop - Flange Crank 40594 40665-8
40663-00
Metal Prop - Taper Crank 40594 40665-8
40663-01
Wood Prop - Flange Crank 40593
40592-2S
Wood Propeller - Taper Crank 40593
40592-1S
I don't have current prices, total likely under $600
The following are the Alon/Mooney (longer, more pointed) style for:
Metal Prop - Flange Crank 6800-30-001 680029-004 40663-00
Metal Prop - Taper Crank 6800-30-001 680029-004 40663-01
I don't have current prices, total likely over $600 from Univair. Do
not see in Skyport Catalog for 2009.
Hope this helps,
WRB

This is a great explanation, my question is " what exactly
is the legal spinner " What does item 22 look like,
and if it is available, where and at what cost.
Thanks
