The original lever has a hole in it. When you place a pin in there , up AND down movement would be restricted.
Up to the structural strength of the side cowling material. If it is just resting on a prop open deivce, the wind catches it and bends it back over the top of the upper cowling. The device posted by Hartmut would take care of that if there was a slot on the end of the leg to positively engage the slot in the cowl bracket and prevent movement in either direction, I think. -- Darrell Jenkins N94857, 1948 415E _________________________________________________________________ Windows Live Hotmail: Your friends can get your Facebook updates, right from HotmailĀ®. http://www.microsoft.com/middleeast/windows/windowslive/see-it-in-action/social-network-basics.aspx?ocid=PID23461::T:WLMTAGL:ON:WL:en-xm:SI_SB_4:092009
