It would appear, for whatever reason, I am suddenly missing a lot of
e-mails.  I never got the one from Linda attached to this one from Dave.


Anyhow, I was being a little facetious.  It is not uncommon for some
mechanics to read a bulletin and then try to apply it to planes to which
it does not apply.  This case, where the bulletin makes no mention of
the fact that a Stromberg does not have an idle cutoff, I'm sure there
will be a lot of mechanics telling owners their carbs need to come off
for service, and maybe even some being told they have to be replaced...


There have been forced landings caused by applying a Cessna fuel system
bulletin to the 120 and 140 despite the fact that the 120 and 140 are
not included in the applicability list, to name another...

 I'm pretty sure I read that you can't shut down an engine at idle with
mixture control only on a Stromberg (but you can at high RPM). I don't
have mixture control right now, but I'm having a carb rebuilt with
mixture.
