You are right about that.  I'm having to "pre-educate" my A.I. on what we can 
expect when we get a Stromberg with functioning mixture control back on the 
airplane so he understands things like not having and idle cut-off.  Lots of 
"one size fits all" thinking out there in the GA world that doesn't necessarily 
apply when you don't own a Piper, Beech, or Cessna.  At least it wasn't an AD 
for all float-type carburetors.  If the situation ever changes, I expect they 
will write something specific to the Stromberg with input from peop-le familiar 
with that carb.
