Pierre,
I know of three downsides to converting your wings from fabric to metal: 1. The empty weight of the aircraft will increase, perhaps as much as 40 pounds (18 kg). 2. You can't take the metal skin off every 20-30 years to completely inspect and repair the insides of the wings. (Modern fabrics should last that long.) 3. If kept outside, metal wings are more susceptible to hail damage. Ed Burkhead http://edburkhead.com/Ercoupe/index.htm ed -at- edbur???khead.yyy change -at- to @, remove the ??? and change yyy to com
