Yes, John, we have all those inspection holes, but if you look more carefully you will notice that the inspection holes are located right where the ribs converge just behind the front spar and just ahead of the rear spar. The ribs block your view of the spar, except for a small area that you can see through the lightening holes. Remember, we now have the problem of intergranular corrosion rearing it's ugly head in many of our spar cap extrusions. Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intergranular_corrosion . Intergranular corrosion starts inside the cap and works it's way out, like cancer. It does not start on the outside and work inward, like rust. We need to inspect the entire spar caps to check for it. In my opinion, metalized wings are a poor option.
