Mine are in the left wing.   Works very well, does not alter the aerodynamics, 
the look of our beautiful birds, and as Hartmut says, is away from vibrations. 
I think your main gear deals look really cool, but they are a drag. Just a

Be clear about the fact that cutting into the nose bowl means cutting into 
a $1000 piece.

The main reason to have the landing lights in the gear fairings is that there 
is little vibration. The nose bowl is subject to a lot of vibration be it from 
the engine or the propeller.

That translates into frequent replacements of the lamp unit. And maybe more 
vibration cracks in the nose bowl, depending on where you cut.

If you rely on the landing light, I would recommend leaving it where it is now. 

If you don't, why not remove it altogether?
