Be clear about the fact that cutting into the nose bowl means cutting into a $1000 piece. The main reason to have the landing lights in the gear fairings is that there is little vibration. The nose bowl is subject to a lot of vibration be it from the engine or the propeller. That translates into frequent replacements of the lamp unit. And maybe more vibration cracks in the nose bowl, depending on where you cut. If you rely on the landing light, I would recommend leaving it where it is now.
If you don't, why not remove it altogether?

Subject: [ercoupe-tech] LANDING LIGHT

I want to move the landing light form the main gear fairing. I like the looks of the ones in the nose cowling. Suggestions anyone?
