Linda - just thought I would throw this out there - no one has even mentioned the fact that your cable may not have been the problem in the first place. If the painters did not take off the elevator trim hinge and keep it clean during the paint process, then they may have let paint soak into the elevator hinge and make it too hard for the cable to move it. I hope that before you finish the process of getting this fixed, that someone checks the freeness of the Elevator Trim hinge. That too may need cleaning and lubricating. Sounds like you have had lots of good info on the cable, but be sure and look at the hinge too. Good luck - Jerry
